Enhanced Weathering

Enhanced weathering is a carbon removal technology that involves accelerating natural geological processes to capture and store carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere. It works by spreading finely crushed rocks, such as basalt, on land surfaces or ocean areas. When these rocks interact with air and water, they undergo a chemical reaction called mineral carbonation, which captures and converts atmospheric CO₂ into stable carbonate minerals.
